Subject: [TeaneckShuls] Birchas Hailanos - Blessing on Blossoming Trees & Locations

The following bracha is said in the Spring (preferably during the month of Nissan), on fruit trees in blossom. It should be recited on the flower blossoms but not on fruit that has already ripened. Some have a preference to recite it on two or more trees. It is only recited once in the season. See Shulchan Aruch O.C. 226, Mishna Brurah and other commentaries.

1. Four or five cherry trees on left side of the beginning of the path from Winthrop Rd. to Keter Torah.

2. Three apple trees blooming at 397 W. Englewood Ave. immediately west of Rinat

3. Peach tree and apple tree on front lawn at 859 Red Rd on corner of Merrison near Beth Aaron

4. Three plum trees visible on the East side of Sussex Road between Warwick and Edgewood Avenue in the backyard of 422 Edgewood Avenue

5. Three cherry trees in the back of 299 Rutland Ave (bet Rugby & Windor).

6. Apple tree in front of 1648 Hanover St

7. Peach tree at corner of Red Road and Edgemont, behind house on SW side

8. 816 Queen Anne Road in the back by the driveway

9. Cherry tree at 187 Larch Ave

10. Cherry tree in side yard at 110 Cherry Lane

11. Cherry tree in the backyard -114 Maiden Lane , Bergenfield

12. Pear tree in backyard of 112 Rector Court, Bergenfield (visible from park). The pear tree is on the right overhanging neighbor's yard, adjacent to the gate leading to the front

13. Going west on Winthrop Road past Jefferson on left side of triangle (which is Winthrop, not Buckingham), opposite approx. house # 660 or so, there is a small apricot tree in bloom right near the curb

14. Pear tree at 518 Ogden Ave. - can be seen from the Whittier school parking lot

15. Plum tree at 921 Queen Anne Rd. SE corner of Carlton Terr (near driveway on Carlton)

16. Pear tree on River Road at the SE corner Dearborn Street

17. Peach tree in front of 50 Sylvamdur in Bergenfield

18. Plum trees on the West Englewood Ave side of the Whittier School

19. 87 Dudley Drive in Bergenfield in the yard on the right

20. Plum tree 740 Palmer Avenue on the right side of the yard.

21. Plum tree at 513 Forest Ave by the patio.

22. Cherry and apple on front 873 Garrison Ave Teaneck.

23. Plum tree in the front/ right side yard of 740 Palmer Ave, up the street from the post office.
